Independent Project
This independent design project began with rough-hewn boards of oak and walnut, embracing the raw potential of the materials to inform the final design. The structure is defined by precise bridle joints, ensuring strength while allowing the wood grain to remain a focal point. Tongue and groove connections add both stability and a layered textural detail. Cherry accent pieces at the bridle joints of the legs introduce a subtle yet intentional contrast, grounding the composition with warmth. The result is a refined yet tactile study in materiality and connection—where traditional craftsmanship meets contemporary expression. The result is a handcrafted stool that serves as both a practical object and a study in craftsmanship
